In August, 2001, a party was held by cultural circles to celebrate her 80th birthday.

Tsai Jui-yueh (first from the left) is the pioneer of Taiwan modern dance and the most famous female choreographer. Her husband Lei Shih-yu, (a poet), came to Taiwan after World War II but fled in 1949. The couple met each other again only after 50 years of separation.
